Torres del Paine National Park stands as one of Patagonia’s most breathtaking destinations, drawing travelers from around the world to its dramatic granite peaks, pristine glaciers, and untouched wilderness. However, reaching this remote corner of Chilean Patagonia requires some planning, as the park sits far from major transportation hubs.

Most visitors arrive through Punta Arenas, the largest city in southern Chile, located approximately 320 kilometers (200 miles) from Torres del Paine. There is no direct route between these two points—instead, travelers typically connect through Puerto Natales, the gateway town to the national park.

What is the best route should I take if I want to visit Torres del Paine National Park by air, should I land in Punta Arenas and go north to Torres del Paine National Park or land in Puerto Montt and go south since there is no plane landing in Puerto Natales. Should I book the tour when I land or book in advance.
